North Carolina Paper Company Petra provides all infrastructure engineering management and supply management services for a refurbished brownfield pulp and paper operation. The site has 15 megawatts of generation capacity provided by four turbines with six active coal fired boilers. In coordination with the plant’s production activities Petra has renegotiated energy contracts and implemented infrastructure improvements that have yielded 35% savings on total energy costs. Petra is providing continuous improvements to reduce the client’s overall facilities management costs including the outsourcing of certain functions. The client has a standing contract with Petra to provide ongoing management, demand side services, generation alternatives. All these services are performed under a comprehensive services and consulting agreement. |

Central Biomass Boiler for Eco-Complex Petra is working in conjunction with numerous government and private entities to develop a central “green” boiler plant for use by multiple industrial clients and a regional wastewater solids disposal operation. Petra developed the project concept in conjunction with the involved parties and coordinated all facets of the project including but not limited to: technical, financial, regulatory, and contractual. The project will run completely off renewable fuel sources currently classified as waste by industry and government. The project will incorporate steam and electric production. |

Texas Chemical Plant Energy Projects Principals provided leadership in implementation of large energy improvement projects while working with third party steam supplier to optimize heat load balance. The principals identified over 10 projects representing over $15 million in energy savings and reducing energy consumption by 10-25% for the affected processes. The improvements included projects in the areas of compressed air, heat transfer processes and mediums, mechanical drive retrofits, self-generation, and process improvements. The principals also provided technical consultation and oversight for the client in disputed claims related to interconnects for infrastructure and their apportioned costs from a third party provider. |
